St. Mary’s Music Ministry serves to unify the community in the magnification of God’s glory. Through sacred song, we give Him our praise and gift each other with a deeper experience of God’s power and beauty. It is not a requirement to be Catholic or a registered member of our Parish in order to join our music groups. Whether you are an experienced musician or totally new to music, there is a place for you in the St. Mary’s Music Ministry!
Adult Choir
St. Mary’s is blessed to have a wonderfully active Adult Choir, a warm and dedicated group with a passion for traditional music. We enrich weekly Sunday liturgy and additional Holy Days with a variety of choral anthems, ranging from Gregorian chant to modern compositions, both a cappella and accompanied. In rehearsal and in live offering, we are grateful to have our sound strengthened by the help of professional section leaders.
Children’s Choir
Our Children’s Choir welcomes singers Grades 3 – 6 to engage our Faith through musical games and worshipful songs. Rehearsals focus whole-person involvement in body, mind, and spirit as we learn our music through kinesthetic activities and thoughtful reflections on why we sing what we sing. Children’s Choir singers build confidence to lead musical worship, develop tonal skills, and learn about God through songs that stick with us for life. Join in the fun of fellowship and singing as we share our music and spread joy to our Parish!
Youth Music Group
A new addition in the fall of 2025! Middle and High School musicians Grades 7 and above are invited to join open jam sessions for singers and instrumentalists. Our goal is to inspire youth to collaborate on a variety of Christian song genres, harmonizing and improvising together with voices, guitars, and other brought instruments. In the future, we look forward to sharing our music at Masses and other church events. Adult chaperones and musicians are welcome to help facilitate.
RSCM
In the past, St. Mary’s affiliation with the Royal School of Church Music in America (RSCM) offered an extensive training curriculum to our young singers, teaching them the fundamentals of singing, music theory, sight-reading, and liturgy. Singers gained opportunities to serve in bigger musical roles, such as Youth Cantors for Masses. Through the RSCM program, children and youth have become well-rounded musicians who strengthen and enliven the musical worship of their Parish community. At St. Mary’s, we hope to increase participation in our young choirs enough to restart collaborations with RSCM.
